At Brussels Airlines, our purpose goes beyond flying.

With Hike-in-Africa, we turn this connection into action.
Every two years, we bring together colleagues, partners, and friends for a one-of-a-kind experience that combines hiking, solidarity, and giving back in a different African country. Together, we explore the continent’s breathtaking landscapes while supporting local initiatives that create long-term value for communities. 
More than a journey, Hike-in-Africa is an out-of-the-box experience that goes beyond anything ever done before. Designed around the five senses, it invites participants to see, hear, taste, smell, and feel Africa in an authentic and deeply human way.
It’s a concept unlike any other — one that celebrates discovery, empathy, and shared purpose.
Our charitable engagement lies at the core of this project.
Through b.foundation for Africa and helpalliance — the recognized charitable organizations of Brussels Airlines and the Lufthansa Group — we ensure that every step contributes directly to sustainable, community-driven projects that make a real difference.
This initiative is open to all employees across the Lufthansa Group, offering a shared adventure that transcends our individual hubs. It is an exceptional team-building experience that strengthens collaboration, unity, and purpose across our airlines and business units — bringing our people closer together while making a meaningful impact.
By alternating between years of preparation and action, Hike-in-Africa ensures continuity, sustainability, and measurable results. It’s a shared commitment to walk side by side, to give back, and to grow together.
