TRAINING SESSION
The First Gathering of the Samburu Hikers
Once upon a trail-kissed weekend, the journey truly began.
Thirty-five hikers arrived as individuals and left as something more. In the rolling forests of the Ardennes, near Pont-à-Lesse, the first footsteps of our shared story were written.
A 10-kilometer trail became our proving ground—where names were learned, laughter echoed, and the rhythm of the group began to form.
.
Then came the river.
Not an obstacle, but a messenger. Cold water around our legs, clear minds above it—a reminder that in January, Kenyan rivers will ask the same question: Are you ready?
The answer was given without words.
The afternoon brought wisdom instead of meters. Around tables, secrets of the expedition were unfolded, expectations aligned, and spirits sharpened.
Each hiker received their duffle bag—not just gear, but a promise—destined to carry dust from the Matthews Hills and memories yet to be made
One day.
One group.
One feeling.
One shared heartbeat.
This was not training.
This was initiation!
